When: Wednesday, June 13th, beginning at 8pm
Where: Acre 121 (1400 Irving Street, NW)
Why: It’ll be fun! (Plus all proceeds will go to help run the market and support its programs.)
There is a $10 suggested donation at the door. Funds raised will support:
1) Festibucks: CHCM matches up to $10 per weekend per federal nutrition assistance benefit.
2) The Youth Market Garden Program: local elementary and middle school students learn how to sow, care for, and harvest vegetables in an urban setting, then sell the fruits of their labors at the Marketplace’s farmers market.
3) Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program: an exciting pilot program that gives families at high risk for obesity-related chronic illnesses a prescription from a doctor that can be redeemed at five farmers markets around town, including ours.
