Volunteers Needed: Upper Crust, one of the market’s vendors, is looking for volunteers to assist at the market for the remainder of the season. Volunteers will be compensated. Please contact volunteers@chfestivus.org if you are interested.

This week at the market:

Bella Terra Family Farms: Continuing: potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, basil, roaster chickens, cucumbers, eggplant, fennel, flower bouquets and sunflowers.

Bonaparte Breads: Delicious French pastries and breads

Chapel’s Country Creamery: Feta, Bay Bleu, Talbot Reserve, Chapelle, Chapel Cheddar, Vanilla Yogurt. Chapel’s will sample its Chapelle cheese on baguettes from Upper Crust Bakery with local honey and basil.

Chesley Farms:  Continuing: Tomatoes, sweet corn, yellow and white peaches, nectarines, apples, peppers, eggplant, onions, garlic, cherry tomatoes, blackberries

Dragonfly Farms: Continuing: Cantaloupes, tomatillos, minisota, honeydew, Korean and Chinese melons, watermelons, salad tomatoes (orange and yellow), field tomatoes, sweet corn, peaches, cucumbers, green zucchini, yellow squash, kale, swiss chard, collards, cantaloupe melons, orange cherry tomatoes, heirloom cherry tomatoes, green tomatoes, peaches, purple beans eggplant, peppers (green, purple, black, hot), celosia, sunflowers, zinnias and stattice.

Fresh Crunch Pickles: Pickled cucumbers, okra, green tomatoes, beets and beans.

Gunpowder Bison: Bison meat in various cuts and dog snacks

Licking Creek Bend Farm: New this week: tomatilloes and Asian eggplant. Continuing: Formosa and shiro plums (sweet), bell peppers, cherry tomatoes (three varieties), peaches, green sour apples, Broccoli, cauliflower, squash (eight varieties), cucumbers (four varieties), cilantro, sorrel, arugala, peaches, Lodi apples (sour), kale, beans (royal burgundy, yellow, dark and light green), collard greens, beets and basil.

Pleasant Pops: Watermelon mint, blackberry mint cream, watermelon cantaloupe and hibiscus flower

Springfield Farms of Kent County, MD: Lamb meat and sheep products

Spriggs Delight Goat Cheese: Hill Side Feta, Feta Salad Mix, Tow Path Camembert, Stone BarnValencay, Tomme, Chevres: Fresh chevre, garlic and herb, jalapeno and chive, pineapple and jalapeno, cran-nut & fruit and nut. Whole goat milk ricotta, plain whole goat milk yogurt, pure whole goat milk fudge – peanut butter, chocolate.

Stachowski Brand Charcuterie: Sausage made from duck, lamb, poultry and pork.

Twin Post Farm: Chicken and duck eggs

Upper Crust Bakery: This week Upper Crust Bakery is featuring two kinds of Italian bread.  Traditional Italian bread, which is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and great for sandwiches especially tomato sandwiches, and Italian boule, which is chewy on the outside and has bigger holes on the inside. It has a slightly nutty flavor when toasted or grilled.  They also will have a limited amount of homemade peach marmalade!

Fine Art: Six artists, including painters and jewelry makers, to showcase their creations on Saturday at the Marketplace!

Cooking Demo: Aziza, from Aziza Wholistice Wellness will do a cooking demo with tomatilloes and Aisan eggplants from Licking Creek Bend Farm.  For more information, contact info@wholisticwellness.com.

    Description: Join health coach Colleen DiPietro at your local farmers’ market this Saturday, May 19, and learn all about simple, tasty ways to incorporate more greens into your diet.

    Green vegetables are the foods most missing in modern diets so Colleen will be talking about ways to incorporate leafy greens, especially kale, into a daily diet. Did you know that kale can be prepared a variety of ways and eaten at every meal? Imagine that! Beginning at 10am, the local health coach will prepare kale 3 ways while offering recipes and tips on adding a little GREEN into breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
